My Wiggles

Description

This is wiggles exploring the backyard. It is in the forest of "gao choi" (some kind of veggie my grandmother grew) that's incredibly fragrant.

I used to have a pet duck. Her or his name was Wiggles. We actaully had two ducks, Wiggles is mine and Darkwing was my brothers. These photos were taken with film about two years ago when I first got Wiggles as a birthday present. It has been awhile since Wiggles has been missing, we're not sure where he/she went because it wouldn't run away, we think someone might have stolen the duck, but who would steal a duck? I don't know. hmm :hmm:

My fuzzy little duckies always followed each other around. I didn't take too many pictures of them while we took care of them for the past 2 years. But i have many funny stories about my ducks. My brother's duck hated water... it was called Darkwing for a reason..my brother not only named him after the silly yet courageous cartoon character, but also because this duck was ALWAYS dirty. My duck on the other hand was obsessed with cleaning itself even in small shallow puddles on the cement. Such a silly duck. It's incredible how quickly they became big white ducks. I still remember when they both fit in the palms of my hands.

Well I was thinking about my Wiggles and these pictures I took while I was experimenting with my dad's old canon. These were scanned a long time ago and now I can't find the originals, but oh well I'm sure its buried somewhere in my room, i wish i could find them...well.. enjoy!

I found this on a Botanical Herb site when I looked up "gao choi". No wonder they were fragrant, they're from the onion family!

"Chinese chives are sold in Chinatowns in major cities. They are called "gao choi" in Cantonese and "jiu Cai" in Mandarin. Flowers and leaves are sold separately as vegetables; the seeds are used as a male tonic. There are two kinds of leaves; the blanched (yellow) and unblanched (green). Blanched chives are produced by depriving the plant of sunlight during part of its growth; these leaves are normally used in wonton soups and have different flavor than that of unblanched chives. The leaves used in the remedy are unblanched."
